Building on last years success of Midsummer Music Madness we were delighted that the 2007 concert featured 16 schools and ran over two nights. The concert was held at The Kings Theatre Southsea which has been newly refurbished.

This year's concerts were again sponsored and promoted by The Rotary club of Havant, working with the Havant Federation of Schools. The 2006 highly acclaimed concert was a runner up in the Evening News "We Can Do It" awards.

There were some stunning performances from the highly talented students and it was excellent to see everyone working together to stage such a magnificent show. The reaction from the audience and parents was stunning.

This year the original six senior schools that took part in 2006 were joined by choirs from 10 junior schools. The junior schools sang together as a choir and performed gospel songs under the superb control of John Gleadall.

The whole essence of this project is to bring together children from a number of our local schools and enable them to perform in a professional environment that allows us celebrate the talent that is in our Schools. Too often young people get a bad press. This year's show proved that we are lucky to have such a talented group of children in Havant.
