On a bright and windy October afternoon, 25 Rotary and Inner Wheel members joined forces to drive 25 elderly local residents through the lanes of
West Sussex to Manor Nurseries, Chichester. Each car picked up two guests from local areas including Bedhampton, Leigh Park, Havant and Southbourne.
Among them were Carmen and Michael pictured above with Ann Chawner. After driving the pretty way. the whole party of guests, some of whom rarely have a chance to get out of their homes, and their hosts met up in the tea rooms at the garden centre for delicious cream teas and cake.
Some of the party took time out for a little shopping there too. One guest, Hazel Field, of Havant, said: “It was the best day I had since moving into the area – everyone was so friendly and easy to get on with.”
It's allways hard to tell from the photos of the event which people are the Rotarians, but suffice to say everyone had a good time.
