This website will give you a `feel` for the spirit and activities of the Rotary Club of Havant. The following extracts from worldwide and national publications give further insight to the wider scene of Rotary.

`Rotary` is short for Rotary International - a worldwide association of clubs for men and women in business or the professions who:

"provide humanitarian service to the community at local, national and international levels encourage high ethical standards in vocations work for goodwill and peace in the world."

Rotary was founded in 1905 and now has 1.18 million members in more than 28,000 clubs in 155 countries. There are 1,834 clubs in Great Britain and Ireland with over 59,000 members.

Each club is active at international, national and local levels but clubs are best known for their work in their home community through support for the needy of all ages.

Social activities give Rotarians the chance for fun; each club holds parties and other events that offer diversions from today`s demanding professional and personal schedules. Conferences and social life in the wider Rotary community provide entertainment as well as updates on Rotary activities.

Each club`s membership represents a wide cross section of professional men and women, for example: leaders in business, industry, the arts, government, sports, the military and religion. Clubs are non political, non religious and open to all cultures, races and creeds.

ENTRY TO ROTARY is by invitation to a club, but suitable new members are always welcome. If you have found this website interesting and wish to take your interest further, please contact
